What happens if I miss a few days or a week?
If you’re away for work or a holiday you don’t have to worry about ‘falling behind’ on the course. It’s your journey and you can complete it at your own pace. You’ll continue to receive new content each week for 9 consecutive weeks but you can learn at your own convenience. Because you get access to the course content for a full six months, your course material will be there for you to go back to at a later date and continue on at your own pace.
What if I’ve never meditated before? Can I do the course?

How is the Calm, Conscious & Connected course different from other online meditation courses?
Great question! We’re glad you asked. Let’s explore the key differences:
- The experience. Calm, Conscious & Connected is created by Dr. Paula which means you’re getting her professional knowledge and personal experience from years of studying, practicing and teaching meditation.
- The techniques. The Calm, Conscious & Connected course is not exclusively aligned with any particular meditation lineage. It is a sectarian approach to learning the art of meditation. Moreover, because research backs the use of different forms of meditation, you will learn multiple methods. Most meditation courses offer just one form or style of meditation (because teachers are often aligned with one particular meditation school or lineage). Dr. Paula has trained in multiple traditions. She encourages students to experience different approaches and supports them in curating a practice that best works for them.
- The content. This course is information-rich and you’re in for a treat! The focus is on the art, practice and science of meditation. Most online meditation courses focus solely on the practice (which is most important) but often the educational content is inaccurate, misleading, or greatly lacking. The Calm, Conscious & Connected course aims to open both your heart and your mind to meditation. We want your intellect on board and we want you to have access to the most cutting-edge meditation research.
- The approach. We’re inspired by and deeply respectful of the rich traditions of meditation. We’re also proudly pragmatic. We support the approach taken by the Dalai Lama who, of his own tradition, wrote “If scientific analysis proves some belief of Buddhism wrong, then Buddhism will have to change”. Calm, Conscious & Connected is secular and does not take an exclusively Buddhist approach to meditation. We borrow from several approaches and ensure that all of them are evidence-based.

How much time do I need to dedicate to the Calm, Conscious & Connected course?
The Workbooks can generally be completed between 20 minutes and 1 hour per week.You’ll receive a new installment of the eBook at the beginning of each Module (Weeks 1, 4 and 7). The Module 1 eBook is the most intensive. It’s designed to help you understand the limbic system and become an expert on understanding stress – our number one nemesis to getting calm, conscious, and connected.Module 2 includes an additional video series (1.5hrs) and eBook. This material is designed for you to use according to your interest and need. It may be explored throughout Module 2 and 3 or learnt all at once.There are ample optional Bonus Materials provided throughout the course. In the members only ‘Science Library’ you’ll get direct access to scientific research into meditation. In the Movie Theatre you can enjoy a selection of documentaries, seminars, and interviews with leading meditation practitioners and researchers as well as short films to further inspire and deepen your meditation practice.If you choose to participate in every aspect of the course, a very rough time estimate would be 3 hours per week for the duration of the 9 weeks of the program. However, if you simply want to digest the weekly material and take a lighter approach, then you’ll need approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour each week.
The more time you put into the course, the more you’ll get out of it.

Do I need to read all of the science stuff?
No. You can glide along smoothly with the weekly Workbooks and practices or dive as deeply as you like into the additional information and science.
We want your intellect on board and that’s why Calm, Conscious & Connected contains a lot of information. We also want to clear up common misconceptions and misinformation about meditation and meditation research findings. But let’s get something very clear: information isn’t meditation.
You simply will not experience the benefits of meditation by solely reading, studying or thinking about meditation. Meditation is an experiential practice, not an intellectual one. That’s why the practices alone are enough. They are the most important part of the Calm, Conscious & Connected course.
If you’re not curious about the science then you don’t have to immerse yourself in it.
Can I get access to the entire Calm, Conscious & Connected course all at once?
No. But we appreciate your enthusiasm.
The course is carefully curated and designed to help you get the most out of your meditation practice. We want you succeed in this program and welcome you to revisit the content in any order you like at the conclusion of the course but we do not allow new participants to access the entire course all at once.
If you’ve looked at the course outline and decided that you ‘already know’ the material in Module 1 and want to jump ahead Module 2 then this may not be the right program for you.
Can I revisit the Calm, Conscious & Connected content more than once?
You have full, ongoing access to the content and members sections for an entire six months. In this time you can revisit and refresh your practice as often as you wish.
I’m not sure if I’m ready. Should I wait until I have a holiday or at least less work on?
Maybe. But probably not.
If your life is full it’s probably very unlikely to be any less full in another three, six or twelve months. In our experience, there’s never a time when you’re “totally ready” to embark on life-changing daily practices. Besides, as modern meditators we need to learn in the midst of everyday life. This is it. This life is our practice. Our busy modern lives are both our challenge and our gift.

How much does it cost and what are the payment plan options for the Calm, Conscious & Connected course?
There are two options.
You can either pay in full for $199 (and save $21) or choose to pay 4 weekly payments of $55.
If you choose the payment plan, your payments will be automatically charged on the same day of the week for 4 weeks.
Will I get one-on-one coaching or feedback from Dr. Paula?
This is an online group course. While Dr. Paula is very active in the online community each week, we cannot guarantee personal feedback from Dr. Paula for each student.

Will the Calm, Conscious & Connected course teach me how to teach meditation?
What system requirements are needed?
You’ll need internet access to watch the videos and download the materials.
You can read the PDF documents and listen to the audios on your computer, laptop or mobile device (smartphone, tablet etc).
You will also need a Facebook profile to join the online Calm, Conscious & Connected member’s only online community.
What if I don’t like the Calm, Conscious & Connected course? Do you have a refund policy?
Yes. We want you to be as happy as we are with the course. You can test drive the course for up to 30 days. If you do all of the work and don’t feel we’ve delivered on our promise, we’ll graciously refund your money.
To be eligible for a refund you must submit your completed Workbooks and Journals for all available content within 30 days of the start of the program. If you’ve done the work and don’t get value, then we don’t deserve your money and we will happily refund you 100% of your money.
